Hi-Tech Carbon (HTC) is a unit of Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd., a flagship company in the fold of Aditya Birla Group of companies. HTC is one of the leading and most advanced manufacturers of Furnace grade Carbon Black. Making a modest beginning in the year 1988 at Renukoot in Uttar Pradesh, the company had unfolded a capacity of 20,000 MT per annum for manufacturing Carbon Black. Since then, it has never looked back and continually achieved increase in capacities in the Indian Industrial arena to peak to a new level at 1,60,000 MT per annum. In the year 1998, HTC has developed facility at Gummidipoondi and later doubled the manufacturing capacity to reach 84,000 MT per annum in 2004. Currently HTC exports roughly one third of Carbon Black capacity to the overseas customers in the international market.
